Application of laser engraving in various industries

laser engraver

Laser engraving products is a highly integrated optical, mechanical and electrical technology equipment. It is mainly used in the fields of handicrafts, furniture, glass products, wood products, lamps, advertisement, decoration, papermaking, laserpecker compact laser engraver marking boards, stamps and seals, bamboo products, handbags and shoes, clothes and garments, fabrics and so on. By adjusting the laser parameters, the machine can perform diverse engraving and cutting. Since the mid to late 1990s, the engraving industry has grown rapidly with the successful development of laser engraving technology. At present, laser engraving is used in almost every industry and has become a common device in our daily work. Now, it is mainly used in advertising industry, craft industry, mold industry, construction industry, printing and packaging industry, wood industry, decoration industry, leather industry and so on. Next, I will introduce the application of laser engraving within several common industries.

1. Laser engraving applications in the decoration industry

Laser engraving is widely used in the decoration industry. I will take wood engraving as an example to introduce:

First is the log, that is, unprocessed wood.laserpecker 11 It is one of the most common laser processing materials in our daily life, and it is also easy to be engraved and cut. For example, light-colored woods such as birch, cherry or maple, they are easily vaporized by the laser and therefore perfect for engraving. However, as each type of wood has its own characteristics, we should choose the wood according to the specific object to be engraved. We recommend researching the characteristics of the engraver first before engraving unfamiliar woods.

Next is plywood, which is a man-made wood panel and one of the materials commonly used for furniture. Carving on plywood is not much different from carving on wood, except that you need to be careful not to carve too deeply. The edges of cut plywood will darken like wood, but the degree of darkening depends on the type of wood used for the plywood.

In general, engraving on wood is usually shaded and the depth of engraving is usually required to be deeper, so the power is usually set higher. If hard woods are encountered, this may cause the engraved figure to become darker. If you want to make the color lighter, you can increase the carving speed and try to carve several times. Certain woods produce soot that attaches to the surface of the wood when carving. If the wood has been painted, it can be carefully wiped away with a damp cloth. If it is unpainted, you may not be able to wipe it off completely, resulting in surface staining of the finished product.

2. Laser engraving applications in the printing and packaging industry

With the widespread use of laser engraving, the printing and packaging industry has also begun to use laser engraving technology to produce printing plates. The most common packaging in the printing and packaging industry is corrugated box packaging. However, corrugated box packaging can be divided into two categories: sales packaging and transportation packaging. Sales packaging usually belongs to the inner packaging, which meets consumers during the sales process, such as color boxes, white boxes, gift boxes, etc. Transportation packaging usually belongs to the outer packaging, basically in the sales process does not meet with consumers, its main role is to facilitate storage and transportation, such as cardboard boxes, corrugated boxes and so on.

Because of the low plate-making cost of laser engraving on paper packaging materials, which is only one-fourth of the cost of a resin plate, laser engraving plate-making is commonly used as a corrugated box packaging printing plate in the current printing and packaging industry.

Laser engraving is a way to realize engraving by hitting the point, which has a natural advantage in grayscale performance. Therefore, when designing the engraving, try to use the grayscale representation form. The advantage of this is that on the one hand, it reduces the coloring process and saves money; on the other hand, it enriches the means of expression of the engraving and increases the level of the graphics.

3. Laser engraving applications in the craft industry

Laser engraving crafts refers to the use of high energy density laser beams projected onto the surface of the material, so that the material surface undergoes physical or chemical changes, so as to obtain a visible pattern of engraved crafts.

Laser engraving crafts can be divided into paper laser engraving crafts, fabric laser engraving crafts, bamboo laser engraving crafts, leather laser engraving crafts, resin laser engraving crafts, glass engraving crafts, metal laser engraving crafts, jewelry and jade laser engraving crafts and so on according to the material.

Next I will focus on the laser engraving machine in the plexiglass crafts engraving applications.

The most common material in our daily life - acrylic - is actually a kind of plexiglass. It can be easily cut and engraved into various shapes and sizes, and the cost is relatively low, so it has become one of the most commonly used engraving materials in the craft industry. Plexiglass produced by casting method after laser engraving produces a frosting effect is very white, and the original transparent texture to form a sharp contrast, can produce very good results after engraving; and calendering method of production of plexiglass after laser engraving is still transparent, there is not enough contrasting effect, and therefore relatively little use. Therefore, in the choice of plexiglass should pay attention to the purchase of high-purity materials, otherwise in the engraving or cutting may be melting phenomenon.

4. Laser engraving in the leather industry applications

Leather industry using laser cutting machine to break the traditional manual and electric shear slow, difficult to layout, low efficiency and material waste serious problems. It has the characteristics of fast speed, simple operation, for the development of the leather industry has brought great benefits. Simply input the graphics and dimensions of the required cut into the computer, and the laser cutting machine will cut the whole sheet of material into the required finished product according to the data on the computer. There is no need for knives or molds, and it also saves a lot of human resource investment. Therefore, laser cutting machine is widely used in the leather industry.

Relative to the traditional cutting method, laser cutting machine has many advantages: it cuts out the edge of the leather without yellowing, automatic hemming or crimping, no deformation and will not be hard, consistent and accurate size; can cut any complex shape; high efficiency, low cost, through the computer design of the graphic can be cut in any shape and size of the lace; processing of the workpiece does not have mechanical pressure; the operation of the safety and maintenance is simple and so on.

Due to the combination of laser and computer technology, the user only needs to design a good pattern on the computer can output and change the engraving graphics at any time to realize the design of the product while the concept. It can be said that the emergence of laser cutting machine greatly promote the development of the leather industry.
